About

The Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force (VCORTTF) is a coordinated effort among local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and community partners. Funded through the California Organized Retail Theft Prevention Grant, the Task Force was created to address the estimated $10 million in annual retail losses in Ventura County.

The team combines detectives, analysts, prosecutors, and support staff who focus on organized retail theft, stolen vehicles and parts, and cargo theft. Their mission is to reduce these crimes by conducting investigations and arrests, developing actionable intelligence, educating retailers, and sharing critical information with the community.

Through proactive patrols, undercover “Blitz” operations, and collaboration with retailers, the Task Force works to deter crime, recover stolen property, and keep Ventura County communities and businesses safe.
